Trade Show Tips

Want to get the most out of your trade show experience?  Follow these few steps to an successful show.  First, do your homework.  Research the history of the particular show, its attendance, exhibitors and foot traffic in order to determine if it is both worth your time and will provide you the right kind of customer interaction.  Also, be sure to set up appointments before the show, but don’t overbook.  Be sure to leave time for those last minute drop ins.  Second, make sure you have practiced your elevator pitch and have similar talking points as the other people working the booth.  You want to maintain a sense of consistency in your messaging.  Third, be sure to make yourself approachable.  Never eat in the booth, have deep conversations with colleagues, or appear too busy to talk.  Rather, venture into the aisle, interact with your booth, and greet people with a firm handshake.
