The Pros and Cons of Vessel Sinks
A vessel sink is some kind of a basin that rests on top of a counter or raised platform. The most common shapes for vessel sinks are round or oval shaped bowls and squares. The vessel sinks can be made out of a variety of materials including glass, marble, porcelain, or stone. These types of sinks are striking and can be q focal point of your bathroom. They are bold and make a big statement. The downside is that they are hard to clean. The small space between the bottom of a round or oval bowl and the counter is very hard to reach in to. This is a great place for dirt and mold to build up. If you choose a glass basin then you are constantly plagued by water spots and finger prints. Another concern is that it is easy to splash water out of the basin when washing your hands because the sides are so tall and you have to reach over and down to reach the water.
