The Cricut Expression
The Cricut Expression is a great addition to the Cricut family. It is the largest unit and it isn’t portable like the smaller Cricut create, but is meant to be stationary on a work table or such. It also use the same Cricut cartridges and blades as the other Cricut machines.
The Cricut Expression uses the larger size, 12″ x 24″ or 12″ x 12″ mats. The possibilities are endless with this larger machine. No computer is needed and it allows you to create bigger cuts, for signage, scrapbook layouts, decor and much more. The Expression also has a LCD screen so you can see exactly what you’re typing for your next project. It also cuts in portrait or landscape and you can change language or units of measurements settings. You can mix and match features in the same cut also.
The Cricut Expression also has many additional features. The quantity mode lets you specify how many selected characters you want at the dialed size, and it calculates how many pages you will need. There is an auto-fill mode that duplicates characters as many times as possible over the page depending on the dial size you select. The fit-to-page mode, re-sizes your characters as big as possible to fit on the remaining page. You can also set the length of your characters and you can flip characters. It can re-position the blade to return to the next line or you can position the blade to the center of the area you want.
All of the Cricut cartridges work in the Expression. You can purchase font cartridges, shape, licensed, Classmate, and Solutions cartridges. In those packages are Designer’s Calendar, Picturesque, Gypsy Wanderings Digital, Gypsy Font Digital, Pink Journey Solutions, Winter Woodland, Sweethearts, From My Kitchen, Everyday Paper Dolls, Stamping Solutions, Ashley’s Alphabet, A Child’s Year, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Squarepants, Stand and Salute, Simply Sweet, Disney Hannah Montana, Jubilee, Home Decor Solutions and so many more that can be purchase separately.
There are over 6 different bundles of paper you can purchase and 9 cardstock packages, 17 vinyls, 3 different sizes of cutting mats, 4 different packs of color inks and 4 different blades. You can also purchase binders, handbooks and overlays. There are several different storage cases you can buy to keep your Cricut safe and protected, along with all of your extras. And last but not least there are 11 different tools you can use with it. The Cricut Expression is definitely a great addition to the Cricut family. Scrapbooking and arts and crafts is never going to be the same!
