Special Functions of Tanning Lotion

There are some basic functions of tanning lotion that every bottle will offer regardless of whether it is the top indoor tanning lotion brand or a generic store brand. The development of tanning lotion formulas as the years go by has led to greater enhancement of the product to the point where a lotion designed to improve the tan is just not enough. Some manufacturers are focusing their attention on enhancing the user experience. This includes all the other aspects of a lotion beyond the tan that results from using the product.

Every bottle of tanning lotion will offer an accelerator function, a moisturizer, and bronzer all in one. This applies to even the discount indoor tanning lotions because consumers have come to expect these things from any tanning lotion. The accelerator speeds up the skins ability to produce a tan in a number of ways. One technique is to keep the skin hydrated and thus the moisturizer in the lotion. The bronzer is supposed to serve two functions. The first is to give the wearer a fake tan so they might not feel so self conscious about their real skin tone when tanning. The other function is more hypothesis than proven fact but it is believed to distribute the light so the skin tans more evenly.

What some people might not expect from certain brands especially premium lines of tanning lotion are the extras. Things like improved scent, although lately this is now becoming quite a standard as well. Some tanners would end up carrying a chemical odor because of the lotion they used and it used to be a common problem. More recently manufacturers have added perfumes and other scents to improve in this area. Now some more advanced scents are supposedly designed with the principles of aromatherapy so further increase the enjoyable experience of tanning.
