Silk Fabric
These days, silk is really synonymous with elegance and wealth. But silk garments are just as lauded because they are so versatile, comfortable and wearable. Silk fabric , known as soie in French, is actually the most strong of all of the natural fibers. Did you know that a steel filament that is the same diameter as a filament of silk will break before the silk does. Now that’s strong! Silk is also great at absorbing moisture. This makes it stay cool for the summer time but also keep you warm during the winter. Since it is so highly absorbent, it can easily take on color and can be dyed any color that you choose, including the deepest colors. Silk keeps its shape, drapes great over the body, plays up the figure, and is lustrous like nothing else.
