Plyometric Jumping Exercises

I have been short my whole life but I have also been very competitive in sports.  I loved playing basketball as a kid and I was always fast but I never blocked a shot.  I moved from my love of basketball to a sport that penalizes being short even more, which is beach volleyball.  In volleyball the net is 8 feet tall for guys and 7′4″ for women.  I am a guy that is only 5′8″ so in order to do anything I have to jump a lot higher than someone 6′4″.  Every 2 inches taller someone is means that their reach is 3 inches taller than mine.  So I quickly realized that I had to work harder than anyone else just compete. My key was doing plyometric jumping exercises to ensure that I would be able to hang with the tallest of players and hold my own.
