Perfume Review: Obsession Night by Calvin Klein

This Obsession Night was created in 2005 as a variation of the original Obsession for women. This fragrance has an unusual style compared to other Calvin Klein perfumes, with dark and sensual orange notes, accompanied by also dark florals.
The opening is sweet and fruity, within the family of blackberries and with an aromatic orange. In the middle notes this dark orange aroma is dominant, supported by florals, fresh but not enough to give a summery style. There seem to be roses, plus other traditional flowers like lily-of-the-valley plus a sweet fruit which seems to be an apricot.
Here and there, the orange mixes with the florals to create a note which is similar to Amor Amor by Cacharel. As the final notes approach, it becomes darker, and also bitter, with less red orange and darker roses, plus traces of oriental vanilla and toasted caramel, wood and dry fruits like walnuts or almonds. The final base notes are bitter with herbs. The orange of the opening is completely gone, and what is left are wood and vanilla notes in the background.
From the very first whiff this CK perfume gives the idea of a sophisticated, sensual woman, although as time passes it starts to become less intense and bitterer. It is suitable for any time of the year, although more at ease during the winter or cold spring days. Since it is an aroma with personality, it is perfect for the office, especially for occasions where it is required or desired to be the centre of attention. The level of sensuality is usually well received by men. It is also very particular for a night use, formal during the summer, semi-informal during the rest of the year. The first half of the perfume is quite sensual, also very attractive in romantic scenarios starting from the late evening to late night. In general the age range is between 25 and 45, ideally over 30.
