Outdoor Security Camera | Protecting From Vandalism
Protecting an outdoor security camera from vandalism is no simple task. The good news is that there are several ways to deter the possibility of an attack by applying some simple considerations during the setup and install of the security camera. When it is applicable, the best way to install a camera, inside housing of course, is to flush mount with only the transparent openings of a fixed camera and the glass of a dome camera housing exposed. A fixed camera housing that protrudes is much more prone to being attacked and damaged. Also, if the camera is positioned out of reach or out of sight the chances of a spur of the moment attack is almost eliminated. The important thing is that the camera’s line of sight is not blocked by simple cloth or balloon and this isn’t a problem if no one knows where the camera is, or in the case of a PTZ dome camera with smoke bubble housing, no one knows where it is pointing.
