Article 60 – light switches
You have light switches literally all over your home. But what do they look like? They are usually boring colors and plain wood grain looks. How about brightening your home by adding flare to those boring light switch plates? You can coordinate switch plates to go with each room’s theme.
To decoupage a plastic light switch plate, remove it from the wall and clean it off with mild soap and water. Cut out a design from photos, fabric or wrapping paper. Paste the design on the center of each switch plate, and fold the edges around the back. Glue them down and fold the corners on an angle, like you do when wrapping a present. Then glue the edges down.
Use a craft knife to open the area where the switch will go, and cut an X through that hole, in the center. Fold each flap back and secure with electrical tape. Voila! Decoupage switch plates to beautify your home.
