Indoor Rocking Chairs
Indoor rocking chairs are the type of furniture that has more meaning than simply a seat. Rocking chairs evoke strong feelings in a lot of people. Some people remember a family member rocking on a lazy summer afternoon while others remember rocking their children to sleep. Because of the strong feelings and memories that people have when they think about or see rocking chairs, they are often pieces of furniture that are passed down from generation to generation. One common gesture that people make to indicate the importance of the rocker is to carve something into the head rest. I have seen rocking chairs with the family surname or family crest carved into the chair. My husband and I put a footprint of each of our children in the rocking chair we bought for the nursery. I think it will be nice to give it to my daughter one day when she is ready to have children.
