Good Listening Skills
Since everyone usually has to deal with people in all aspects of life, whether it be work-related or in their own personal life, good listening skills are essential to developing well-rounded relationships on all aspects.
To develop these, start by simply being quiet when people are talking to you. Look them in the eye to assure them you’re really listening. Nod occasionally and answer quickly if they ask you anything while they are speaking. Never look away or look down when someone is talking to you. This shows them you’re not paying attention and your mind is on something else. After they’re done talking, relay back to them a little of what they said and empathize with them. This shows them that you truly were paying attention.
Once you’ve learned to do this, these skills will improve your personal and work relationships.
