Dog Training Tips for Your Dog
In recent years, the ownership of exotic or specialty dog breeds has skyrocketed as people have increasingly come to see man’s best friend as just another accessory or something to brag about on the golf course or near the water cooler. While dogs have been paling around with humans for thousands of years, it’s only been relatively recently that humans began breeding dogs for selected traits. First and foremost, this practice was undertaken in order to get tangible results that related directly to someone’s livelihood. For example, bull dogs were bred to be working animals while Labradors and bloodhounds were bred to aid hunters on the hunt. Nowadays, however, dogs are bred mainly for show and appearance and, fields such as Havanese dog training only offer the benefit of training these toy dogs – nothing about this practice helps people in their day to day lives or with their professions. While it’s nice to see so many people experimenting with the appearance and behavior of man’s best friend, I’d rather take the traditional stocky breeds any old day.
