Designing Your Home, in a Unique Way
It’s important for you to feel at home in… your home. Sounds simple, but if you aren’t personalizing it, and making it uniquely yours, then you may actually have problems doing so. If you’re in a spot where you want to add something to your home but aren’t quite sure what, let me give you a couple personal examples that I feel have done an excellent job making my home less like every other home and something a little more interesting to look at.
For one thing, you should start the day off with your personality front and center. One of the ways I’ve designed my bathroom to help do this is by getting an assortment of earring displays that I specifically chose that best represent me. A have a couple smaller ones that look like plants, with the earrings dangling from the branches, and one shaped like a woman, that hangs right from her ears. These actually help inspire me to be myself throughout the day, in a way that a bland, boring bathroom wouldn’t do. I also chose a particular shade of dark red for the walls and had some elegant sinks installed, but the earring displays are the icing on top of the bathroom cake.
Another thing I did was purchased a small white writing desk that I use to answer my mail during the day. These were more in style a couple generations ago, but I find them beautiful. They’re not too common now, mostly due to the fact that they are too small to comfortably put a laptop on, but since I wanted a place to actually write things out, it works great for me.
These are a couple ways I’ve designed my home, and I hope they inspire you too. There are unlimited paths to go down here, but just try them out, and see what you come up with. You won’t regret it.
