Building Your New Closet Shelves
It is a good idea when building closet shelves to grab one or two extra pieces of hardware, in case something gets lost or bent. When using closet brackets, make sure to measure them, so they fit the width of the shelves you are using. Double check your measurements before your purchases are final. If you had lumber cut, it’s wise to make sure they were cut to the proper measurements as well. You will need tools for construction of the closet shelving and might only need a screw, hammer, and a tape measure. When hanging closet shelves, if you aren’t sure where the studs are in the wall, you might need a stud finder to place the brackets in the right position. Other items that may be needed are a level, saw, drill, or a pencil.
