Basin Taps to Beautify your Bath

To re-fit your bathroom taps or add shiny new ones, you will first need to purchase a fiber washer; make sure it’s the right size for your tap connector. Remove the old washer that you’ll be replacing from the tap connector, and insert the new one. Then you will need to make the tap connector tighter. Watch the threads to make sure you’re tightening it evenly, and to make sure you don’t have it cross-threaded. Then use a fixed or adjustable wrench while you hold the tap with your other hand, to keep it from moving.

After the basin taps are fitted, make sure they are in their “open” setting when you turn the water back on. Let the tap flush for a bit, so that there won’t be any sediment or detritus lodged in the tap. This can damage the washers. Then check for leaks, and you’re ready to use the tap again.
